Do you believe that yoga is for everybody?
If so, your journey starts here. If you are a 200-hour yoga teacher who wants to learn to make your yoga classes more inclusive and trauma-aware, this is your training. If you are a yoga practitioner who wants to learn to embody yoga in a way that is authentic to its roots and also unique to your lived experience, this your training. This immersion is open to all levels of yoga students.
The Waking Yoga 100 Hour virtual training is yoga for personal and social transformation. We will support you through four months of self-inquiry, yoga, and evidence-based mindfulness and somatic practices that will lead you deeper into self-knowledge and enrich your work in the world. This transformative experience will leave you more awakened to the world within you and the world around you.
What will you learn? Adaptive and functional yoga asana Mind-body centering Evidence-based mindfulness Culturally mindful teaching Polyvagal Theory The somatic and systemic roots of trauma How to use yoga and mindfulness as a tool for self-awareness, self-care, and healing Resilience building tools to live courageously and compassionately in the face of difficulty and change Communication practices to deepen your personal and community relationships How to become a safe and healing presence for others How to teach Hatha, Hatha Flow and Adaptive yoga classes in multiple public environments How to teach trauma-informed yoga in any setting To make your yoga classes welcoming, culturally mindful and affirming for all bodies How the 8 limbs of yoga support social equity How to build an inclusive, trauma-informed yoga program from the ground up and take it into the world!
Who are we? Waking Yoga is a collaboration of experienced yoga educators, yoga therapists, and community activists who believe that yoga can be a powerful tool for personal healing and liberation as well as for the healing and liberation of society.
Our vision is to nurture trauma-informed yoga teachers who are active in their communities and beyond, guiding them to work mindfully with privilege and oppression and understand the nuances of their students’ races, genders, sexual orientations, bodies, and overall lived experiences as deep sources of individual and collective wisdom.

Yoga teachers Yoga students wanting to deepen their practice Social workers and clinicians who want a trauma-informed, culturally mindful approach to their work Anyone wanting to heal from negative social conditioning and collective trauma Anyone invested in moving society toward inclusion and equity
When do we meet? We will meet bi-monthly Saturday and Sunday, 9am-1pm.
All classes will be interactive and live on Zoom and include practice, lecture, and discussions. All practices and lectures will be recorded and shared with students in the training.

Cost: Sliding Scale $999, $1299, $1499, $1799
This is an investment in your personal growth and in the growth of society as a whole.
This 100 training can be included towards the Practice Yoga 300-hour advanced training and a 500 Yoga Alliance Certification.
A $200 deposit reserves your spot for this training. Payment plans are available.
