About Waking Yoga
Waking Yoga was founded by long-time Austin yoga teacher Jenn Wooten RYT 500, YACEP, C-IAYT. Jenn is a certified yoga therapist and yoga educator who has studied yoga, mindfulness, and the nervous system for over 20 years. She has been a teacher, mentor, and group facilitator in the Austin yoga community since 2004. Jenn has created a unique approach to yoga trainings and retreats that create a welcoming atmosphere for people to have potent life-changing experiences and to reconnect to life. Our teaching cultivates inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally mindful spaces for people to have life-transforming experiences.
Waking Yoga brings together highly skilled and heart-centered yoga teachers, educators, and healers in the Austin yoga community. Waking Yoga trainings and retreats help students learn to respond more skillfully to life’s stressors so they can live more courageously in pursuit of their dreams and build communities of growth and well-being. This is Waking Yoga.

Yoga Therapy
What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the practices of Yoga and mindfulness. Yoga therapy is based on the belief that mental and physical health are highly interrelated, and that wholeness and well-being come from an integration of both.
Stress and trauma can wreak havoc on one's nervous system, immune system, spirit, and sense of self. Jenn has created a unique approach to yoga therapy for trauma and PTSD that supports restored vagal tone and healthy nervous system responses through specialized somatic movements, visual orienting, and breathing techniques. Jenn's clients have clear and qualitative results in restoring nervous system resilience, mitigating the symptoms of PTSD, and reconnecting to life.
